An academics advisor for the University of North Carolina athletics department who claimed she was fired for raising questions about academic fraud in some classes taken by many athletes has settled her whistleblower suit. Mary Willingham, the academics advisor, will receive a money payment but will not return to her job. The University of North Carolina still faces suits filed recently by two former student-athletes, Rashada McCants and Devon Ramsay, claiming that the university failed to allow them to obtain a real education, substituting academic fraud for real learning.
