Tort reform limiting the amount of damages recoverable for injuries caused by wrongdoing undermines the principle of personal responsibility according to Tennessee State Sentator Mike Faulk in an essay published in The Tennesseean: "Tort Reform Bill Defies Principles of Justice." Senator Faulk compares tort reform limiting the damages caused to limiting "the length of all criminal sentences to a certain number of years - no matter how awful the crime."
