A race discrimination suit by a Kansas City police officer, who was made a scapegoat for a botched murder investigatio, has resulted in a $6.5 million verdict in his favor. The jury found for police officer Danny Holmes on all three of his claims including that he was fired in part based on race discrimination. The jury awarded more than three times what was requested for lost wages and retirement benefits.
