Former North Dakota Attorney General Nicholas Spaeth has sued Georgetown Law School claiming age discrimination in a failure-to-hire case.  Spaeth sought employment in legal academia at a faculty recruitment conference in 2010.  He claims that Georgetown's emphasis on hiring "young scholars" and "young cohorts" indicates that age discrimination was a factor in the school's failure to hire him. Georgetown argues that "young" really just means "new."
