The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has filed a disability discrimination lawsuit claiming that an employee was wrongfully terminated because she is bi-polar.  The Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) makes it unlawful for employers to discriminate against employees on account of a disability such as a mental illness.  The suit states that the employee, who had worked there five years, took a leave of absence to deal with the illness. Although the company had a policy allowing for a medical leave of up ton 18 months, she was fired after only five months.
