A jury's verdict awarding a police officer $225,000 in damages in an American With Disabilities Act (ADA) suit has been upheld on appeal. The police officer, Det. William Blake, a 24 year veteran, claimed that Baltimore County violated his rights when it required him to take neurological and fitness-for-duty tests ten years after a potential seizure. Blake also claimed that the tests were ordered in retaliation for his having testified in favor of another police officer in an administrative hearing.
