Retired city employees have sued the city of Stockton, California to retain their health care benefits, which the city has tried to renege on.  The city council, as have other city councils including Lexington's, slashed health care insurance premium contributions to for current employees and retirees, while eliminating them entirely for employees with less than ten years employment.

Retirees worked for many years, some for decades and were promised that they would have their health care premiums covered in consideration for their years and decades of service.  Now the city wants to pull the rug out from under them.
