$6.5 Million Verdict for Police Officer for Wrongful Termination

A police officer in Kansas City won a $6.5 million verdict in a wrongful termination lawsuit. Police officer Danny Holmes was made a scapegoat for a botched murder investigation in 2003. The jury found for office or home on all three of his claims including that he was fired in part based on race discrimination. The jury awarded more than three times what was requested for lost wages and retirement benefits.
