Female Employees' Suit Against University Athletic Department Settled

A lawsuit by two female employees of the Slippery Rock University athletic department claiming that they were retaliated against for speaking out against the athletic director has been settled.  The suit by Assistant Athletic Director Pearl Shaffer and volleyball coach Laurie Lokash followed on the heels of an earlier suit brought by 12 female student-athletes under Title IX claiming that female athletes were not afforded the same athletic opportunities as males.  Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
