Police Officers File Discrimination & Retaliation Suit

A discrimination and retaliation lawsuit has been filed by three Honolulu police officers.  Sgt. Sherman Dowkin, the only African-American supervisor in his district, and officer Federico Delgadillo, the only Mexican-American officer in his district, claim that they were discriminated against based on their race, citing repeated failures to provide backup and frequent use of racial slurs including "p?polo," "wetback," "beaner" and "big-nosed Mexican."  The third officer, Cassandra Bennett-Bagorio, claims that she suffered retaliation after she spoke out against the treatment of Dowkin and Delgadillo.
