Women Sue Bank of America Over Lesser Bonuses

Women brokers have sued Bank of America in a class action sex discrimination lawsuit claiming that they were typically eligible for lower retention bonuses based on a discriminatory practice of steering wealthier clients toward men.  The essence of the claim is that the retention bonus program disproportionately disfavors women while disproproportionately favoring white men.

Citigroup last year settled a similar lawsuit for $33 million involving sex discrimination in its Smith Barney unit.
