Women Sue Bank of America Over Lesser Bonuses
Women brokers have sued Bank of America in a class action sex discrimination lawsuit claiming that they were typically eligible for lower retention bonuses based on a discriminatory practice of steering wealthier clients toward men. The essence of the claim is that the retention bonus program disproportionately disfavors women while disproproportionately favoring white men.Citigroup last year settled a similar lawsuit for $33 million involving sex discrimination in its Smith Barney unit.
