A group of police officers have settled their race discrimination and harassment lawsuits for $18 million. The officers claimed that they faced racial discrimination, harassment and retaliation following the ouster of a police chief.  The sixteen police officers sued the city of South Gate, California claiming that they were subjected to racial slurs, false internal affairs investigations, unfairly disciplined and were passed over for promotions.
