Two former budget analysts for Kansas City have settled their discrimination suit against the city for $2.8 million. The employees, Colleen Lowe and Jordan Griffin, were long-term city employees with excellent employment records. They claimed that race and age discrimination as well as retaliation was behind their layoff from the city. A jury in January awarded them $2.6 million in compensatory and punitive damages; the settlement included their cost and attorneys fees.
