A hospital's failure to reasonably accommodate an employee's disability gave rise to a disability discrimination lawsuit under the Americans with Disabilities Act that was recently settled for $150,000. The employee,Jayne Feshold, work as a medical data technician and suffered from claustrophobia-like symptoms, a condition which if fully medically-supported and documented can constitute a "disability" covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act. She presented proof of her disability to two different department supervisors at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas and requested of both and accommodation for the condition but was refused.
